Beautiful shapes and a preference for materials
Savannah is a delight to the eye
The Swedish designer Monica Förster’s style is characterised by her eternal love for new materials and beautiful pure shapes.
A no-compromise kind of design
With Savannah, Monica Förster celebrates the craftsmanship that Erik Jørgensen Møbelfabrik masters. Savannah consists of an uncompromising sofa and armchair in elegant natural materials.
The chair is built around a solid wooden core, which is enclosed by thick leather of the finest quality. The leather detail creates a beautiful frame around the soft handsewn seat and back cushions.
Monica Förster was born in 1966, grew up in Lappland in the north of Sweden and studied both at Beckmans College of Design and Konstfack. Förster has secured a position as one of Sweden’s leading contemporary designers working with projects that span from handbags to industrial design. The cross disciplinary work of her studio draws inspiration from everything from high-tech research to traditional handicraft and the studio’s portfolio is one of Sweden’s most international to date. Monica has won the award ”Swedish designer of the year” two years in a row and among her clients are Alessi, Tacchini and Svenskt Tenn.
