The history of Vipp begins in 1939, in the small Danish town of Randers, when Marie asked her husband Holger Nielsen to create a bin for her new hairdressing salon. The bin was never intended to be sold, but some of Marie’s customers were so impressed with the bin that they ordered it for their husband’s surgeries and dental clinics. The bin was only sold to the professional market until daughter of Holger and Marie, Jette Egelund, took over the company in the early nineties, and turned the bin into an international design icon.
Today, the Vipp product family now ranges from a bin to a kitchen to a complete furniture range, with every product encompassing the same DNA, materiality and unparalleled quality as the very first piece in the collection.
