Kuta Table Lamp by Nemo, originally designed by Vico Magistretti in 1979, reflects a pursuit of geometric simplicity and ambient effect. The lamp features a circular aluminium reflector that casts light with a subtle eclipse-like quality, balancing contrast and form.
Finished in black and white with a chromed stem and base components, Kuta evokes visual clarity through clean lines and refined detailing. Its sculptural silhouette and controlled light diffusion offer understated drama to desks, sideboards, and occasional tables.
Vico Magistretti was born and educated in Milan. His award-winning designs are exhibited at design museums worldwide; he has worked together with many prestiguous companies throughout the world. Magistretti is an honorary visiting professor at the Royal College of Art in London.
Approx. 80% of Magistretti's products designed since the early sixties are still in production. His immense success is attributable to the simplicity and modesty in his easy, elegant form idiom based on established and natural shapes - yet with the respect for cultural and historic values and traditions.
This is obvious in his designs for Fritz Hansen, Vico and VicoDuo.rking for Zanotta, Porro, Magis he uses fibreglass, gels, aluminium foam, neoprene and three-dimensional textiles.
