Front consists of Sofia Lagerkvist, Charlotte von der Lancken and Anna Lindgren who all met while studying at Konstfack in Stockholm. They did their first project together during Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2003 and started their own design studio after graduation. Front’s design often communicates a narrative to the user, a narrative about the production process and the materials specific qualities. Front has with its progressive design contributed to radically change the classic image of Swedish design and was awarded the world’s biggest design award (based on the amount of money), the Torsten and Wanja Söderbergs award in 2010. Front is constantly featured in international design media and their work has been exhibited at institutions such as MoMA in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris and Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
