The Danish design duo Ernst & Jensen started their collaboration while studying at The School of Architecture. During their education, they entered and won Erik Jørgensen’s talent competition with their furniture Waves. Since then, the duo have contributed to Danish design with a lot of beautiful furniture, amongst this is the Insula series. The first tables in the collection have a table top in an organic and asymmetric shape. It almost looks like an island – hence the name Insula, which means island in Latin.
With the Insula 195 table, we are no longer dealing with a small island, but rather quite a large one of its kind. The table top measures 195cm on one side and 160cm on the other. With its generous measurements, the table is perfect to use as a conference table or as a large joint desk.
With their joint work in recent years, the Danish design duo of Anne-Mette Jensen (1969) and Morten Ernst (1964) have manifested themselves as exponents of contemporary Danish design.
The duo’s collaboration dates back to their time as students at the School of Architecture in Copenhagen. Here they were both educated as architects in, respectively, 1997 and 1998.
